Pacquiao-Marquez III: Pacquiao Reigns Victorious

November 12, 2011 the trilogy finale ended in a dramatic unanimous decision. Eight years ago, inside the boxing ring at the MGM Grand arena, we saw a young fighter, Pacquiao, take on the more experience Marquez and fought brave and well but was not good enough to  finish Marquez. The 1st meeting ended in a DRAW. Four years later, after the 1st meeting they decided to seal the deal and at the 1st round, Pacquiao sends Marquez 3 times down the canvas but Marquez manages to stand up, never say never until the 12th round.  The second meeting was won by Pacquiao, but many doubted the decision which rose as a controversial win by Pacquiao against Marquez.  This called a rematch for the third time.

Four years past and finally, 2011 the year of this generation’s great day to witness the ‘Trilogy Finale: Pacquiao-Marquez 3’. Both warriors fought not for money, not for fame but for honor of self and country. Eight years of maturity has past and the mistakes of the past fights are filled with much skill and determination.

Pacquiao was not the same old aggressive fighter who was careless to get countered and could possibly get knocked. Marquez was determined to win against Pacquiao and from all the speculations that he will get knocked down by Pacquiao were all wrong. All the rounds as the world witness, was a close battle. It was hard to determine who was winning. And in the end the skills of Pacquiao reigned in the ring. Marquez was indeed the best fighter matched for Pacquiao’s skills.

Pacquiao-Marquez fans admired the heart of both fighters. From all the fighters that Pacquiao had defeated, Marquez is one of those fighters who gave Pacquiao the fight of his Life, it is like the wish of every warrior in the ring, to take on the best fighters, not like the attitude Mayweather Jr. has shown to the boxing world.

Nov. 12, 2011 was sealed by Manny Pacquiao, some boxing analyst may disagree but Pacquiao deserved the win. The question is, Will Mayweather Jr., after witnessing Pacquiao’s performance finally take on Pacquiao?
